"I doubt that it was the sort of welcome she wanted to give either," Jonathan sighed. "I don't imagine anyone here was expecting the sort of attack that happened. Or the impact it would have on the city."

And that was one thing that still unsettled him; while Jonathan had been chased through the streets by the Guard of Priwen many times, they'd never tried burning their own homes to get at him or any other vampires. That was nothing short of insanity.

"Tomorrow we'll hopefully be able to get more answers," he said as they walked through the hallways and back towards the quarters they'd been given.
