They're making a point with taking women. Women are...it's weird how women are treated here. Women are more or less equal with men where I come from but I've gathered it's not like that in other places.

( Here, women seem to be more important than men in a lot of ways. Some of the other people Katniss has met seem to put more importance on men. In Panem, everyone was under the Capitol's thumb regardless of age or gender. )
