[ he did consider that, but. there's always a but. ]

It might take longer, though, because I have to connect the broken circuits to the elektriline and that means the power plant has to divide the power it's producing right now between the city and the fences —

[ he runs a hand through his hair, sighing. ]

It'll take more energy out of us to use Craft, but it also leaves more electricity for the city. Which is probably a good thing.

Ah. [Jonathan grimaced in faint chagrin at not having considered that particular issue. Outside of his own profession it seemed that certain factors escaped him.]

A pity there is no backup power sources. A generator would likely be more reliable than ourselves right now.

[All the same, he focuses on the Craft and tries to conjure a spark but... the idea of this magic is just so different from his own scientific mind that he finds himself more going through the motions than anything.]

...this feels like a waste of time.

[ he gestures to where the farm animals are gathered, munching on grass and trotting along. ]

Or... a vet? Like, checking that they're not too traumatized by the recent events? Could animals die of shock? Or stress?

I believe so but...

[Jonathan glances over at the milling creatures, none of which seem entirely happy with him being there. It strikes him as strange that they can sense something is off about him but most people cannot unless trained in the signs.

But the thought is cut off rather abruptly as he spots several low shapes stalking around at a distance, blending with the taller grasses and trees and circling around them.]

...I believe we have company.
